Other (ad)ventures

I suppose I am possessed of a somewhat adventurous nature. (Happily, my Mom once claimed that it is her fault!) Apart from penning an economics blog from 1991 to 2015 and co-creating the Games Economists Play site, I also was the co-founder and co-editor (with Prof. J. Paul Dunne) of The Economics of Peace and Security Journal (2006-2020) and for many years co-edited (with Prof. Keith Hartley) the Routledge Studies in Defence and Peace Economics book series (we closed it in 2020 as well). In addition, I started a couple of private sector business ventures, and I still enjoy motorcycling, mountain hiking, scuba diving, and photography, some examples of which may be seen in the near-by image carousel. Perhaps best of all, I have had the privilege of making a home on all continents, coming to respect and enjoy culture & nature across our incredible planet. In all this, my family, friends, and colleagues worldwide have made invaluable contributions to my life. Thank you all! -jb
